The Interactive Systems Group (University of Helsinki/HIIT) is looking for a talented intern to work within our group. Our current research focuses on novel interaction techniques, mobile interaction, multi-touch displays and crossmodal feedback through the audio and haptic modalities. The successful applicant will contribute to a research project investigating the use of mobile crossmodal interaction and interpersonal communication. The intern will be required to complete some hardware development, design and code a mobile application and assist in the users trials of the system.
The internship will take place in Helsinki from April to August (with the possibility of extending this to 6 months).
Requirements:

Applicants must be studying towards a Masters or PhD in computing science, electrical engineering or interactive system design.

Experience in interactive systems, embedded systems and sensors, HCI, and developing applications for Nokia devices would be beneficial

Fluent spoken and written English is essential
