Hietanen: linking to P2P content elsewhere may differ from delivering content illegally

16 Feb 2009 - Debate of controlling copyrights on the web rises again as Swedish authorities have taken Pirate Bay, the worlds largest bittorrent tracker, to the court. HIIT researcher Herkko Hietanen points out that the disputed services provide links to the pirate content instead of delivering that themselves. From the legal point of view, this can make a difference.

14 Feb 2009 - The law does not give powerful tools to fight new racisist groups on the web. Stupid opinions can be legal. The best way to fight back may be opening anti-racist campaigns on the net, says professor Jukka Kemppinen.
