Aalto researchers have developed a method for quantifying controversies in social media. The method, developed by doctoral student Kiran Garimella and his colleagues, aims to help users understand their news diet and enrich their online news consumption. The study has been featured in various technology blogs, such as MIT Technology Review and NBC News, and it will presented in the 9th ACM International Conference on Web Search and Data Mining (WSDM 2016).
