This talk presents the research agenda of the "Kernel machines, Pattern Analysis, and Computational Biology" research group. I will start with an overview of kernel methods and structured prediction, and follow that with concrete examples from our group's research, including drug bioactivity prediction in a multi-task setting, de novo metabolite identification from tandem mass spectrometric data and biomarker discovery via sparse canonical correlation analysis.
