Ubiquitous Interaction - Mobile 3D Maps

Mobile 3D Maps

Problem description

Consider the Earth, accessible from you mobile phone as a realistic, one to one mapped virtual environment. The environment can be populated with static location based information, but with networking, the system can also support dynamic data, such as location based discussions or visualizations of near real time measured data. All services or annotations associated to any visible object are directly available from the 3D view.

Ubiquitous Interaction - Environmental Awareness

Environmental Awareness

One of the most important issues for cities today is Environmental Awareness. The EU's environmental laws help protect against water, air and noise pollution and control risks related to chemicals, biotechnology and nuclear energy. The Environmental Awareness projects contribute to the image (promotion) and to the experience and understanding that people have of pollution and energy usage that is not necessarily self-evident in their cities and homes, and also how their actions as idividuals can impact upon their immediate environment.

Algorithmic Systems: Mission Statement

Computer science is the science of studying how things can be automated. When automating intelligent behaviour, modeling plays a central role as an attempt to formalize the properties of processes characterizing learning, inference and intervention (actions). Due to the uncertainty and incompleteness of available information in application domains of computer science - the artificial intelligence and machine learning domains in particular - such models are commonly based on probabilities.
