The Academy of Finland awarded funding for the project Urban Space and Experience Design (USED) - participatory methods for new media art & research. The project is an art-research interaction project which converges methods and approaches of new media art, interface design and urban studies. The aim is to develop a practice informed by an understanding of the experiential and social qualities of public spaces as they are being reconfigured by wireless and pervasive technologies.

The semantic portal MuseumFinland created by SeCo got the Semantic Web Challenge Award 2004 in Hiroshima Japan at ISWC 2004. Press release in Finnish.
1.7.2004: RISE project funded by TEKES

The National Technology Agency (TEKES) awarded funding for the project RISE: Rich Semantic Media for Personal and Professional Users. The project is coordinated by VTT Information Technology; HIIT's Digital Content Communities Group participates in the project led by Dr. Marko Turpeinen. Industrial partners of the project are SanomaWSOY, Alma Media and Yleisradio.
